Sudden onset of fever
Aconitum Napellus indicated in sudden fever that often begins with shivering around midnight. The skin is red and dry and there is no perspiration. The child is agitated, anxious, and worried. She/he is thirsty for large amounts of water. Give 2-5 pellets of 6C potency every hour. This remedy is effective in first 24 hours only.
Sudden fever in Robust child. Red flushed face, cold limbs; everything is congested, strong rapid pulse, throbbing and little to no thirst. Sensitive to noise, light touch, and cold. Give 2-5 pellets of 6C potency every 2 hours. In case of delirium or concern of febrile convulsion, use 30C potency instead. Stop when body temperature returns to normal.
Slow onset fever
Ferrum Phosphoricum child is less vital. The fever is not very high, not more than 102-103 degrees F. The child has a red, than pale face alternately with moist skin. If there is nasal discharge, it may be tinged with blood.
Give 2-5 pellets of 6C potency morning and evening.
